Loyal Army

I became an associate designer for Loyal Army Clothing Inc. in 2006 where I managed all aspects of the design process for each of the unique product lines housed by this specialty label. I combined traditional fine art skills with digital tools to create placement and all-over prints while delivering on seasonal silhouette and outfitting direction for the specialty Juniors market. In just over a year our sales doubled and my designs sold to wholesale partners including Hot Topic, Delia’s, Macy’s, Urban Outfitters and Target.

Defined by character

Loyal Army’s success relied on irresistible and relatable kawaii inspired characters. By incorporating these characters into prints influenced by popular trends we established brand recognition while keeping up with current fashion. These styles sold in our flagship stores in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York as well as specialty stores like Hot Topic and dELiA*s.

Growth through licensing

As Loyal Army continued to grow I worked in relationship with manufacturers to create licensed artwork for goods expanding the brand beyond our fashion bodies. These designs were informed by trend direction and artwork we provided to our partners, allowing them to quickly create successful products.

White label partnerships

Loyal Army’s unique fashion bodies and illustrations appealed to our audience and compelled retailers including Kohl’s, Macy’s, Delia’s, Mead and Hot Topic to commission white label designs for their seasonal lines.
